Oxley St. Park

At the foot of Oxley Street sits Oxley Street Park:

There's grass by the road, but Oxley Street Park is a waterfront park. The entrance to the beach is through a laurel hedge that forms an elegant archway over a platform with stairs leading down to the rocks. Often stairs leading down to a beach are weathered away and that last step is always a doozy. But the stairs at Oxley Street Park are worth noting because they are in excellent shape.

Enough about stairs, here's what the beach looks like:

As with all of West Vancouver's beach parks, Oxley Street Park has an incredible view. At this park, the best place to sit and look at the view is on a giant log that you can see one end of in the picture. It must have been quite a storm to get such a huge piece of wood so far up on to this little beach.

As you can see in the picture, there is a small section of this beach that's made up of small rocks, but most of the beach's ground is covered by one massive slab of rock. This makes for a whole series of tidal pools.

They were looking a little dingy and lifeless this time, but I bet they get good at different tides.

PPR
Good: stairs, tidal pool, giant sitting log
Bad: not good for swimming, very small
5.5/10
