Top Five Must-See Parks
- Whytecliff Park- You haven’t lived until you’ve explored the tidal islet. I hear it’s pretty amazing below the ocean surface as well.
- Cypress Falls Park- A gorgeous waterfall within city limits and ample hiking trails.
- Nelson Canyon Park- Take dramatic pictures on the abandoned highway bridge and then hike up the mountain to swim in Whyte Lake
- Shields Dam Park- Did you know there’s an old logging dam at the top of the British Properties?
- Lighthouse Park- If you haven’t seen the famous light house, I’m not sure what you’ve been doing with your life.
Top Ten Hidden Gems
- McKechnie Park- This place is huge, full of surprises, and nobody ever told me about it.
- Klootchman Park- It’s like Lighthouse Park’s underappreciated younger sibling. It’s good for all your primal urges to stand on cliffs overlooking the ocean.
- Leyland Park- Perched on top of Sentinel Hill, this park has unique views and it’s a climbing tree jackpot.
- Citrus Park- It’s not the most conveniently located of parks, but the trip up the sea to sky highway is worth it for the solitude, serenity and subtle adventure.
- Kew Beach Park- Hidden beside aggressive ‘no trespassing’ signs, Kew Beach is a peaceful public park that’s perfect for picnics and daisy chains in the spring.
- Klee Wyck Park- Located on the western banks of the Capilano River, this park features some of the best graffiti I’ve seen in West Vancouver.
- West Bay Park- Everyone’s heard of West Bay, but who’s actually been there? It’s one of the most stunning beaches along the coastline.
- Garrow Bay Park- It features one of the best sea-level views on the North Shore. It's also got the only diving raft in the municipality.
- Larson Bay Park- This beach was a favorite of mine growing up. Sheltered by Kettle Point, Larson Bay is unbelievably pretty.
- WestwoodPark- Nestled deep in a residential neighborhood, I found one of my new favorite parks. It has many merits, among which is a playground that makes my 90’s kid heart sing.
thanks for this
